Bringing Baby Home
A Workshop for Pregnant Couples and Parents of Infants and Toddlers

Bringing Baby Home is a 2-day workshop for expecting parents and parents of infants and toddlers based on the research of John Gottman, PhD, and taught by Beth Johnson, Certified Gottman Educator. Through lecture and interactive activities, couples learn to strengthen their friendship and intimacy, understand infant development, improve parent-infant interaction, and keep dads involved. The Bringing Baby Home program was developed by the Relationship Research Institute and is based on Dr. Gottman's 25 years of family and marriage research. For more information about the research, see www.gottman.com/parenting/baby/. This workshop is an independent offering, not owned or sponsored by BBH LLC.

Raising a Child with Emotional Intelligence
A Workshop for Parents and Caregivers

How do you react when encountering the emotions of your child? In this 2-hour workshop, you will learn to recognize emotional moments as times for connection and growth. Discover how to help your child develop the basic skills of Emotional Intelligence: awareness of emotions, guidance of feelings, self-motivation, empathy for others, and success in interpersonal relationships. Interactive activities and handouts allow parents and other caregivers to practice and use these skills at home and in child care settings during everyday interactions with children.

Decisions about Child Care and Employment
A Workshop for Parents and Expecting Parents

Are you thinking about how to balance income and caregiving needs in your family or making decisions about employment and child care as you prepare for the birth of a child? This 4-hour workshop will teach you family decision-making skills that go beyond lists of pros and cons. You will learn how to

  • evaluate child care options, conduct searches, and interview child care providers.
  • negotiate employment options, such as parental leave, job-sharing, and flextime.
  • consider the impacts of child care and employment arrangements on your child.
  • talk about hot-button topics, such as money and family roles, with your partner.
  • identify goals, options, and resources that reflect your own family values.

We will not tell you what you should do, we will equip you with the information and skills to make your own "expert" decisions about what is best for your family. This workshop is appropriate for all parents of young children. You can attend either individually or as a couple.
